Hope you're having a great day. This is Iris Harper, Executive Director for the Natchitoches Convention & Visitors Bureau. We launching new venture for our tourism office. We want to use this forum to invite our visitors and friends to share their stories and adventures around and about Natchitoches Parish and Central Louisiana. We'll visit some of our favorite travel sites and discover some new ideas for visiting, best places to eat (our favorite) and so much more.
There will be different bloggers from the office participating so each of us will sign our names so you'll know who is posting.
We encourage you to download our iPhone APP; Explore Louisiana Crossroads for a great directory to everything in Natchitoches.

Today I visited the Alligator Park with my family. It is opening weekend and the weather was beautiful. There were plenty of big alligators along with albino peacock, baby goats, snakes, raccoons and lots more. We spent about 1 1/2 hours at the park. Check it out at www.alligatorpark.net
It's a great place to take your family.
Adults $7.95 - Children 3 to 12 - $5.95
Children under 3 - FREE Hours: 10 am - 5pm

We were hungry and decided to stop by Almost Home for their lunch buffet.
There is a good assortment of food; one meat, three sides and bread for $9. I considered it pricey for Natchitoches but the food was good. Daughter Katherine ordered the chocolate pie and took one bite but my blackberry cobbler was pretty good except a little sweet for me. I'll begin my diet tomorrow because I enjoyed a very good fried pork chop, yummy!!!
I encourage you to learn about the history of Natchitoches and visit our website at www.natchitoches.net
